At St. Martha’s our Sixth Formers are provided with an excellent education which is the passport to the best universities, art schools and other institutions of higher education. Our courses prepare students for careers in the professions, in business, in public services, and in the creative and media worlds. During this period of personal development we give the guidance to help our girls make the most of their skills and abilities. The School offers a wide range of subjects for our size and provides the possibility of individual choice whilst remaining in a small caring environment.

Our experience in delivery at this level will open up possibilities of courses in the best of universities.

The new A2 examinations continue to be among the most demanding and highly valued examinations in the world. With its small set sizes, individual attention and strong academic ethos, St. Martha’s is well equipped to help make the transition from the breadth of GCSE to the specialised depth of Sixth Form study. Our policy of regular assessment also helps to ensure that our girls are heading for their best possible grades.

In addition, we are confident that our Sixth Form will prepare you well for life at and after university. Through our thriving extra curricular programme we will give you the opportunity to develop leadership abilities , communication and social skills, confidence and many other qualities which will make you an attractive prospect both to universities and employers.

The advantages of studying in the Sixth Form at St. Martha’s are laid out in this booklet. Whether you are in the school already or you want to join us as a new student, we look forward to welcoming you into the Sixth Form for these vital years of your school career.

We know from experience that you will enjoy your time with us. I am also sure that whilst you will go on to the next stage in your life with confidence, you will also look back fondly at the time you spent here.
